AS the end of 1999 and the beginning of a New Year, a new century and millennium approaches may I take the opportunity through your newspaper to thank all the people of Okehampton and surrounding area for supporting Oxfam International in the past year.
Their help has come in many forms, from donating goods, money or precious time and by purchasing goods in our local shop.
Their continued support has helped Oxfam to continue to enable people to create a fairer world for themselves and others.
Oxfam continues to work throughout the world helping people when natural and man made disasters occur, this year in particular, Kosovo, Indonesia and India.
Every family wishes for peace, happiness, health and security and it is no different wherever we are, Okehampton or Orissa.
