Children's charity CHICKS is calling all golfers to take up their place at this year's CHICKS golf day at Trethorne Golf Club on Friday June 1. The golf day has, over the years, raised considerable funds for CHICKS and the charity is looking for another successful event this year. The day will include the main competition for the CHICKS trophy, a putting competition, two's competition, and other prizes. Teams of four are invited to play, with bacon roll and coffee, golf and a two-course carvery all included in the entry price of £125 per team. There will also be a raffle and auction over dinner. Event organiser Nicola Bean said: 'The golf day is always popular, but this year we are hoping to make it bigger than ever to help CHICKS reach their aim of raising £1-million a year by 2010, so that we will be able to help 1,000 children a year. If you do play golf please come along and support the day.' CHICKS provides FREE respite breaks for disadvantaged children from across the UK at two specially designed centres in the West Country.
