Lifton Cottage Garden Society and WI 31st Horticultural Show was held on August 1 in Lifton Church Hall with 39 exhibitors and approximately 220 entries.
Entries in the horticultural section were down on previous years due to the recent poor weather. Judges were pleased to see many entries in the flower section, especially bowls of sweet-peas.
The floral art section depicting the Diamond Jubilee year and the Olympics interested the judges and visitors, and the cookery and handicraft classed were well supported.
President Anthony Phillips thanked all who had entered. He introduced the Rev Anne Curnow who presented the cups. Miss Primrose Taylor presented her with a buttonhole.
