AN evening of summer magic of the musicals in a fairy tale setting, with the highlights of some of the world?s greatest musicals will be staged in a one-off gala concert to be held in Chagford on Saturday June 28.
The magic will be performed by 13 artists, who have all appeared in leading roles in the West End of London.
The concert will be performed in the beautiful gardens of Puggiestone.
The garden is a natural amphitheatre sweeping down to the River Teign with one of the largest private collections of heathers in England. It is situated in a natural woodland riverside setting providing a romantic backdrop for an evening of some of the most memorable songs from the shows.
The charities that will benefit from the evening are the Childrens Hospice South West, the Devon branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Chagford Youth Development Programme.
Organiser Sonia Meaden said: ?We decided to open our garden for a one off charity concert this year as we had seen this show in London and we enjoyed it so much we wanted to bring it to Devon ? and at the same time raise funds for local charities.
?I am delighted to say the response and support has been wonderful with people from as far away as the Midlands and Wales buying tickets.
?We want everyone to have plenty of space to picnic, to see the show and enjoy themselves, therefore we will not have any tickets for sale at the gate.?
The grounds will open at 6.30pm for picnics.
A Pimms and Wine Bar will be available. The last remaining tickets at £34 each are available through the Multiple Sclerosis Society in Exeter (01392) 447411.
