DEVON and Cornwall Rail Partnership launched their ?Mad March Fare? for travel on the Tamar Valley line on Monday (February 24).

The special fare is a £2 flat rate, day return fare available for Sunday travel on the Tamar Valley line throughout March.

The charge for children aged 5-15 is £1.

The fare, which is available between any two stations, marks the return of Sunday services which had to stop in January for engineering work to be carried out.

The price compares to the usual adult cheap day return fare of £4.80 between Gunnislake and Plymouth.

The ?Mad March Hare?, who stars in promotional leaflets and posters, was at Calstock station on Monday to help launch the new fare.
