LAMERTON Village Hall's annual harvest auction drew an audience of more than a hundred villagers and friends recently.

The successful event raised more than £2,200 towards village hall funds.

Local auctioneer Peter Palmer auctioned more than 200 lots in his usual amusing manner.

The lots had been donated by local businesses and villagers and the products of Lamerton's community allotment continued to appear in many forms.

Those attending were treated to cottage pie and a dessert supplied by the village hall ladies and the audience went home very satisfied after what was deemed an enjoyable evening.

William Dawe, village hall chairman, said that he was very pleased with the sum that had been raised and he thanked villagers for their continuing support of the village hall.

He was very grateful for the generosity of those who had donated prizes, especially those businesses who recognised the value of Lamerton's village hall.
