A SEVEN and a half tonne Army lorry was involved in an accident at Devil's Elbow Bend, Princetown on Tuesday (May 7).

The twin-axle Bedford TM military truck was travelling on the B3212 when it got into difficulty and turned onto its side at around 1.40pm.

The lorry was carrying a load of mountain bikes.

The 18 year-old female driver of the lorry escaped serious injury but was taken to hospital for observation.

She suffered knee injuries, whiplash and cuts and bruises.

The road was blocked for around an hour following the accident.
