FOLLOWING a very successful expedition in 2014 to the highest peak in North Africa, CHICKS is seeking adventurers to join its trekking team which is heading for the High Atlas Mountains, Morocco, again this year.
Children's charity CHICKS is inviting a team of trekkers to set out on September 10 from London to Marrakech to conquer Mount Toubkal, standing at 4,165 metres, in just one long weekend.
This exciting trip will take in the sights and sounds of vibrant Marrakech as well as trekking through the stunning scenery of the High Atlas Mountains.
In just four days the trekkers will experience challenging walking through every changing terrain, stay in a traditional Berber home-stay, a high altitude mountain hut and will spend the final day at a Riad in Marrakech where they can enjoy a steam bath and recover.
The trek will be led by an experienced UK trek leader accompanied by local Berber guides. No previous trekking experience is required but you do need to be prepared and get fit for the mountains.
Trekkers will be raising vital funds for CHICKS, which provides life-changing respite breaks in Devon and Cornwall for disadvantaged children from across the UK.
To find out more about the trek, visit the information evening being held on Tuesday, January 27 at 6pm at VentureCo Worldwide, Lockyer House, Paddons Row, Tavistock, where Mark Davison from VentureCo Worldwide will share his expert knowledge about the trek.
Alternatively, visit the CHICKS website http://www.chicks.org.uk">www.chicks.org.uk or contact [email protected]">[email protected] for further information.
