ARRIVING in style at Bere Ferrers Quay on Monday — courtesy of Jaycars — were dignitaries who had come for the launch of the Bere Peninsula Pick U Up scheme.

Guests included West Devon Borough Councillor Christine Grills, chairman of Bere Ferrers Parish Council Mr Eaon Wager, parish clerk Mrs Mary Taylor, head of transport co-ordination service for Devon County Council Mr Tim Davies.

Following the launch, refreshments were served in the Old Plough Inn. Development officer for West Devon Rural Transport Partnership Sonia Burgess thanked everyone for attending.

She said it had been a long but rewarding process setting up the scheme.

Ms Burgess thanked members of the Bere Peninsula Transport Working Group for their dedication and commitment during the last two years.
