LUCKY prizewinners and recipients of donations have been announced after Okehampton Carnival, held earlier this year.

Profits from the event have been distributed among more than a dozen organisations.

They are Dartmoor Rescue Group, Okehampton Excelsior Silver Band, Okehampton St John Ambulance, Okehampton Baptist Church, Okehampton Argyle FC (Juniors), Fusion Art, Okehampton ATC, Okehampton Army Cadets, the Open Door Family Centre, Okehampton Poppy Day Centre, Okehampton Age Concern, Okehampton Friendly Circle and The Leaze.

The prize-winners of the carnival programme quizzes were Jack Hellier, for the anagram competition, G Goff for the crossword, quiz time was won by Margaret Booth, dingbats by Pam Stewart and Tahira Pirwany won the colouring competition.

The carnival annual meeting will be held on February 1 2001 in the Turret Room of the Charter Hall.

The committee is looking for new members who would be very welcome to attend the meeting.
