I FIND it hard to believe that two of our town councillors find an advertising sign incongruous because it can be seen from Simmon's Park, and for Mr Ireland to make a point on the fact it can been seen from the play area is ridiculous, does he think the youngsters will be shocked and offended — mums cover their eyes!

If as Cllr Weekes states that the loss of sponsorship will have a big effect in the club's youth teams, the councillors concerned should be ashamed if the sign is removed and the club's sponsors pull out.

I would suggest that Cllrs Marsh and Ireland are incongruous with present day life, and they are still living in the Edwardian age, which one I don't know.

I firmly believe the vast majority of the town's population will be able to live with the sign, and just get on with their lives (and maybe buy a pizza).
