LOCAL derby matches between these two teams tend not to produce the greatest of football, but are always full of incident. This was no exception.
The first half began quietly with the home side coming closest to scoring when a Danny O'Hare shot hit the post.
The deadlock was broken when a Kev Swift free kick eluded the aerial challengers and crept in at the far post.
Lamerton then struck back when O'Hare levelled following a good move and then Rich Downing fired home from outside the box to make the score 2-1 at half-time.
When Jimmy Cole made it 3-1 in the second half, scoring from a narrow angle having been put by Andy Williams, Lamerton seemed to be getting on top.
Lewdown had other ideas however, and prompted by man of the match Swift began to find holes in the home defence.
Swift scored his second latching on to a John O'Hare flick-on. When Jamie Grindly headed in the equaliser from a Nigel Colwell corner it was no more than the visitors deserved.
Paul Breyley had a goal disallowed for handball as did John O'Hare, who hit an indirect free kick straight into the goal from three yards out.
A much more disciplined performance is required by Lamerton on Saturday against in form Mary Tavy.
