AFTER a quiet start to the New Year The Wharf live music programming is hotting up again and returning to the venue this coming Saturday (January 27) will be the Stone Faced Wellers, which as the name suggests, is a band presenting sounds of The Jam, Paul Weller, Style Council and the Small Faces.
You’ll be hearing the likes of Ichycoo Park, A Town Called Malice, Going Underground, All or Nothing, Lazy Sunday Afternoon, Eton Rifles, Shout to the Top and more.
DAMIAN Wilson and Adam Wakeman — son of keyboard maestro Rick — will be stopping off at The Wharf for a show on Sunday, February 11 ahead the release their second full-length album The Sun Will Dance In Its Twilight Hour next month.
The album, containing 10 brand new songs, features Damian on vocals and acoustic guitar and Adam on piano, vocals and acoustic guitar. It also features guest musicians Andy Dunlop (Travis) on guitar, Ash Soan (Adele, Robbie Williams) on drums, Tony Woollard (Damian Wilson) on cello and Haley Sanderson (Strictly Come Dancing) on backing vocals.
The Sun Will Dance In Its Twilight Hour was mixed and mastered at Stevensonics by Gary Stevenson (ABC/Go West/Tony Hadley) and Mike Exeter (Judas Priest/Black Sabbath)
Adam Wakeman said: ‘Writing songs with Damian is always a great experience as we tend to start from scratch and follow where the writing takes us.
‘We’re so pleased with how this album has come together. Having Gary Stevenson on board to mix the album and add an extra ear from a production background has been nothing but positive.’
