A WEST Devon pre-school group is celebrating after receiving a glowing report from Ofsted inspectors. Little Lambs is based at Lamerton Village Hall. A recent Ofsted inspection found that the group provided good care for the children, who were looked after by enthusiastic and committed staff. The inspectors found that children with special needs received conscientious support, a range of worthwhile activities was provided and good emphasis given to ensuring that snacks were healthy and nutritious. The report stated: ?Children are making generally good progress towards the early learning goals in all areas of learning. ?Their progress in the areas of personal, social and emotional development, communication, language, literacy and physical development is very good.? Good progress had been made at the group since the last Ofsted inspection and the actions taken had had a positive impact on provision of care. The inspectors recommended the group informed Ofsted promptly with regard to staff changes, kept a daily record of visitors and of adults caring for children and kept information for parents readily accessible. Children at Little Lambs have been taking part in a sponsored obstacle course during the last week, to raise money for new equipment. This included climbing up and sliding down a slide, walking on a balance bar, going through hoops, weaving through cones, crawling through a tunnel and finally scoring a goal. The group is open on Mondays and Thursdays between 9.30am and noon for three to five year olds and between 10am and 11.30am for under threes ? new children are always welcome.
