VISITORS to the Burrator Inn stepped back in time recently as staff and regulars dressed as characters from the wartime television series 'Allo 'Allo in celebration of VE Day.

The village pub celebrated the 65th anniversary of VE Day to raise funds for a new memorial garden at 42 Commando in Bickleigh.

Local traders donated goods for an auction, as well as Ocean BMW in Plymouth, who donated a BMW Z4 for a weekend, and St Mellion Golf Club offered a round of golf for two people.

From the auction and the raffle, the Burrator Inn managed to raise £1,500 towards the memorial garden fund.
