THE toe-tapping talents of a West Devon line dancing club have netted a huge total for the BBC Children in Need appeal.
The sponsorship money raised by the South West Frontier Club has just been totted up to a huge £2,806.29 — more than a thousand pounds in excess of last year's fundraising effort.
Patsy-Ann Bragg, who takes the line dancing classes, said: 'We've raised more than £5,000 for charity in two years — I've got a very dedicated club.
'We're not huge in numbers but we're a very happy, fun club.'
The dancers, Patsy-Ann and her Borderliners, take their name from the fact that Patsy-Ann lives on the Devon-Cornwall border at Lifton Down.
Until recently the club, which has members from seven years of age to 70, had their weekly lessons in Lewdown. Now it has been re-located to Lamerton Village Hall on Wednesdays and Fridays.
A busy lady, Patsy-Ann can be found behind the counter at Lifton Post Office in addition to her regular dancing lessons.
The next fund-raising event in the diary for the Borderliners is at Buckland Monachorum Village Hall on February 24, when the line dancers will be raising money for Children's Hospice South West.
Anyone who would like to try their hand at line dancing would be welcome at the club. Call Patsy-Ann Bragg on 01566 784283 or 784394 for more information.
