TAVISTOCK Lions’ Club president Paul German turned on the lights on this year’s Trees of Light with the bulbs being sponsored by people in memory of departed loved ones.
This is the 19th year for the trees which to date have raised just over £90,000 for local charities and this year the club has chosen CLIC Sargent and the local branches of Marie Curie and Parkinsons UK to receive the money.
Paul thanked Morris Bros (Tavistock) Ltd for covering all of the costs, South West Lakes for the trees, the works department of Tavistock Town Council for erecting and decorating them and the Tavistock Times for publishing the sponsorship form
The photo left shows Paul with Simon Luke from Morris Bros, the local clergy and members of the Lions’ club.
