IT is the start of the festive season as towns and villages in the area are starting to ?light up?. Winkleigh Fair Committee is inviting people to the Christmas lights switch on in the village square ? they will be flicked on on Tuesday December 11 at 7.30pm. There will be a children?s torchlit procession starting at the primary school and ending with carols around the Christmas tree. Father Christmas will be on hand to dish out sweets to the children. There will be mulled wine, cider punch and mince-pies, to warm festive hearts, served in the village square. The fair committee will give prizes for the best decorated Christmas window, best decorated Christmas house and best decorated Christmas street. They said: ?We hope you can join us for the start of our Christmas celebrations.?
