A CANDLELIT service of celebration and remembrance is to be held at St Eustachius Church on Tuesday, December 11. ?Light Up A Life? is an annual service by St Luke?s Hospice and celebrates the lives of loved ones at Christmas. An individual candle is lit in memory of a loved one, giving special poignancy to the service, which starts at 7.30pm. Each year the hospice holds candlelit services of remembrance where people can join together to remember loved ones at a service conducted by the hospice chaplain Trevor Smith. Everyone is invited to the service, which begins with a small candlelit procession followed by carols, prayers and readings. There is also an opportunity for everyone present to light individual candles in memory of their loved ones. Organisers of the event said that people who have attended the services have found great comfort in joining with others to celebrate the lives of their loved ones.
