OKEHAMPTON Library is the place to be this coming week with books, chocolate and murder mystery for all. Simon Hall, the BBC's crime correspondent in the South West, will be launching his new book, The Death Pictures, at Okehampton Library on Wednesday at 7pm. The book is a murder mystery surrounding the apparently pointless killing of a dying artist. Tickets for the event are £2 and available from the library. As well as crime, the library will also be celebrating 'Fairtrade Fortnight' which has provided an opportunity for libraries to work with businesses that are committed to Fairtrade products and principals. The events in Okehampton have been supported by Waitrose who have donated various Fairtrade products for a prize draw. The prize draw will be open to anyone making a purchase at the library's 'Mega Book Sale' on Saturday or who comes to the World Book Day, Fairtrade coffee morning on Thursday, March 6. The Fairtrade mark is the only independent consumer label that ensures farmers in developing countries receive an agreed and stable price for the crops they grow and that covers the cost of sustainable production . It also provides additional income for farmers and workers to invest in the future.
