Duchy League Div 4 East
Lewdown 7
Calstock 1
AFTER four straight defeats Lewdown finally found the form which had been promised over the last few games. Within one minute of the kick-off Charles Hughes rounded off a good move to give Lewdown the lead.
Calstock equalised through Mortimer but it did not last long and before half time Charles Hughes scored his second for a 2-1 lead.
The second half started well for Lewdown when Adrian Vernon beat the offside trap to make it 3-2. The next goal was scored by Danny Partridge for a 4-1 lead and from a Peter Rockell free kick Danny Partridge scored his second for a 6-1 lead.
Danny Partridge just failed to score his hat-trick after a cross from Andrew Vernon was volleyed just wide.
Calstock had a few chances but some good keeping from Justin Whyatt and defending from Mike Deacon and Will Farr kept Calstock at bay.
The final goal was scored by Charles Hughes who lobbed the keeper from 25 yards to complete a well deserved hat-trick and a superb team performance.
Man of the match: Charles Hughes.
