PEOPLE seeking a physical activity or wanting to promote activities in the community could benefit from attending an event planned for the Tavistock area on May 15 from 6pm to 9pm. The event, at Tavistock Town Hall, is designed to help communities in Tavistock and surrounding areas to develop new physical activity opportunities. Aimed at anyone who would like to represent part of the community, contribute ideas, experience, or time to physical activities, there will be a chance to see how the 5X30 'physical activity for health' partnership project can help with grants, support and useful information. People can meet other activity providers, facilities, organisations and individuals to talk about improving local provision for activity. If you would like to attend or have any questions about the 5X30 Project, contact Esther Richmond, Project Co-ordinator, 5X30 Project, Phoenix House, Phoenix Lane, Tiverton, Devon, EX16 6PP. Tel: 01884 234390, email: [email protected]">[email protected] 5x30 is so named because the World Health Organisation recommends people accumulate at least 30 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity at least five times a week.
