OUR children and young people have very few places in Okehampton in which to play.

They should be able to go to Simmons Park in safety, to play and picnic without having to watch where they step or sit, or what mess their ball has landed in.

I have often seen people drive into the car park, open the car doors and let their dogs run across to the other end of the park to make a mess.

These owners never pick up after their dogs and children are in fear of loose dogs pestering them.

As a dog owner I would like to see a ruling which forces dogs to be kept on leads and only walked round the footpaths. Then the play areas would be clean and safe for children and their families.
