THE monthly Stableford competition at Yelverton Golf Club was played in difficult and unpleasant conditions, with a biting easterly wind keeping temperatures, and scores down. This didn't deter Les Harries or Les Penaluna, who both scored 37 points, a good score when the CSS went up by 3 points. Les Harries won division one while Joe Yorke, winner of the South West Winter Foursomes final, was runner-up, scoring 36 points and having the lowest gross score of 77. Division two was won with 35 points, by Dennis Crocker, runner-up was Paul Isaac, losing out on a count back also with 35. Division three was won on 33 points with Brian Stone beating Peter Clapp on count back. Les Penaluna won division four with 37, with Kevin Vince scoring 33 points for second place. l LADIES from Yelverton Golf Club last Thursday held a club day and took part in a two team match play. The captain Mary Geen lead her team against a side led by vice captain Joyce Martin. It was a close match with the vice captain's team winning 5-3 with four matches being halved.
