STAFF members at Parklands Leisure Centre will be taking on a 24 hour treadmill marathon to raise money for WheelPower and the Devon Air Ambulance Trust.

The brave staff will be running simultaneously on two treadmills from 9am on May 8 to 9am the following day, with the aim of keeping the treadmills going continuously, with volunteers taking it in turns throughout the day to complete the challenge.

Jonathan Smith, contract manager at Parklands, said: 'This is set to be a fantastic day.

'Our staff members are ready and raring to go, they have even roped me into take part as well, and I have a feeling it's going to get extremely competitive.

'We're once again very proud to be raising money for WheelPower and Devon Air Ambulance, both charities are important to the centre.'
