SOME 20 members of the Okehampton branch of the Royal British Legion took part in the Royal review of the RBL at Torbay on Tuesday.
The group were among about 800 legion members who paraded at Torre Abbey Meadow in front of the Duke of Kent, accompanied by the Royal Marine Band.
Unfortunately James Stacey, Okehampton's young standard bearer, was not able to make his second royal appointment of the summer since attending the Queen's visit to Exeter in May.
He was taking his GCSE exams, so the branch had a stand-in on duty, Fred Hudson, from Halwill Junction.
