CHILDREN can help give feathered friends a home this month, with a bird box making workshop at RHS Garden Rosemoor, Great Torrington.

The drop-in workshop, for children aged between 8 and 12, will help visitors to make their own bird nesting box to provide a snug home for birds in their gardens.

It is also hoped the bird homes will encourage a variety of birds to breed in the gardens.

The workshop takes place on Tuesday February 22 from 11am to 3pm and visitors are advised to wear old clothes.

There will be a small charge of £3 per box to cover the cost of materials. Under 8s are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.
