LAST weekend should have seen both Louise Watkin and Lauren Steadman from Kelly College swimming squad competing in this year's National DSE (Disability Sports Event) Junior Short Course Championships at Ponds Forge International Pool in Sheffield.
However, due to illness en-route, it was only Lauren who was able to compete while Louise rested up at the hotel.
Over the weekend Lauren competed in 11 events and produced three personal best times.
She won five golds (100m freestyle, 200m individual medley, 400m freestyle, 100 individual medley, 50m freestyle; two silver (100m backstroke, 100m butterfly); two bronze (50m butterfly, 50m backstroke)
