YELVERTON Golf Ladies' Club Championship was decided over a 36-hole competition on August 16.

The scratch champion is Laura Eastwood with a gross 151 and runner-up is Gillie Jarvis with a gross 162.

The net champion is Trudi Luke, net 147 and runner-up is Helen Harris, net 154.

The first round also incorporated an extra medal competition. Silver division winner was Laura Eastwood with net 69 —gross 72, a new course record, and runner-up was Annette Sweeney with net 70.

Bronze division winner was Helen Harris, net 76 and runner-up was Trudi Luke, net 77.

On August 23 the ladies played a stableford competition and competed for the Norton Rose Bowl. There were many excellent scores with one third of the competition playing to their handicaps or even better.

The silver division winner was Dawn Bolt, 38 points, second Bunty Salz, 37 points and third Kay Creaven also with 37 points.

The bronze division winner was Annie Marshall, 38 points, second Penny Hunter 38 points and third Georgie Evans also with 38 points. Winner of the Norton Rose Bowl was Annie Marshall.

Laura Eastwood competed in the National Age Group Finals at Warwickshire Golf Club on August 20 and 21. She won the U17 group and,with a hole in one, finished second overall.

Caroline Theyer and Helen Harris — winners in 2000 — have reached the semi finals of the DCLGA's Willes Little foursome competition, which will be played at Teignmouth on September 7. The semi-finals and finals are played on the same day and supporters would be very welcome!
