Bodmin Trophies Duchy division 4 east

Lamerton 6

Calstock 1

LAMERTON, needing the points to compete at the top of the table, dominated the first half with Paul Breyley and Kevin Swift controlling the midfield. Manager Peter Alford's experiment with the striker force paid off with goals from William Cann, Simon Pocknell and a hat-trick from man of the match Paul Cowling, who scored all three with his head.

Sean Cann battled well from left-back and was rewarded, just before half-time, when he scored by lobbing the Calstock keeper from just inside the opponents? half.

Calstock entered the arena after a heated half-time talk, fearing the worst.

Lamerton started as they had finished. Calstock were soon down to ten men after player-manager Cook was given a second yellow card.

Calstock?s attacking three, Lewis, Nick Tilbury and Spurr, forced the game forward with Spurr netting a fine goal.

Lamerton almost made it seven before the final whistle with a ball striking the keeper?s arm, rebounding off the crossbar, striking a Lamerton player then landing on defender Hewitt?s knee, who managed to clear it.
