MORE than £4,000 was donated to charity from the proceeds of this year’s successful Lamerton Tractor Day and Country Fair.

This year organisers were able to give a little more to the chosen charities, with £1,000 given to 366 Derriford Cancer Appeal, Myeloma UK, Brain Tumour Research Campaign and St Peter’s Church.

Once again organisers were able to give the Explorer Scouts a cheque for £450 in recognition of the sterling work they do for the show and cheques for £50 were given to the Donkey Park at St Ann’s Chapel and to the animal rescue centre at Gables Farm.

The cheques were presented to the recipients at a gathering in the Copper Penny.

Many volunteers who helped make the charity fundraising event possible attended and enjoyed snacks, beer and skittles after the presentations.

The date for next year’s Tractor Day and Country Fair is September 17.
