THE Lambs gained a welcomed point from this entertaining but goalless game after their recent poor performances.
Both sides had chances to open the scoring, notably for the Lambs as Paul Adcock met Tom Barwell?s cross to head it onto the crossbar after 15 minutes. Five minutes later, Danny O?Hagan had a free header but put it wide of the home side?s post.
Darren Roose broke clear of the Lambs? defence five minutes before the end of the fist half but stand-in keeper Craig Howells did well to block the midfielder?s shot. On the stroke of half-time, Tavistock?s Simon Parnell came from deep to race clear but could only hit the side-netting from a narrow angle.
The Lambs had a good start to the second half with James Steer going close just before the hour, as he got clear of the defence, and Howells made a great save from Jon May moments later as he tipped a shot around the post.
The home side thought they had taken the lead with 20 minutes remaining but Adcock was judged to have handled before he struck home.
The game then became tense as each side tried to carve out the opening for what would have possibly proved to be the winner.
The Lambs? best chance came right at the end when from a Tavistock corner the ball was only half cleared to Sean Cann, but he could only blaze it over the bar from the edge of the area.
A good point after recent results to creep up the table to eighth position.
