Carlsberg South Western League
Wadebridge 0
Tavistock 1
THE Lambs bounced back from the home defeat at the hands of Falmouth with this narrow win over the Bridgers.
In the absence of Craig Smith Chris Abbott changed the team and formation around. Darren Babb returned from injury, Lee Beer took over from Rob Hawkins and Jaime Carwardine was in for the absent Chris Gott.
They got off to the perfect start when in the third minute a mistake from keeper Dingle let in Carwardine to walk the ball into an empty net. Dingle redeemed himself 12 minutes later when he pushed a near-post effort from Craig Hodge onto his bar and the ball was cleared.
The Lambs were in full flow in the opening stages with Jaime's brother Jason heading wide from a James Cole cross.
The home side did not come into the game for the first 20 minutes and their first effort on goal almost brought them level on the half-hour when they hit Andy Meeds' crossbar.
Carwardine was unfortunate to have to leave the field five minutes later to be replaced by Steve Daymond who with almost his first touch got behind the Wadebridge defence to make Dingle block a goalbound shot. Lee Beer was also unlucky when from a Nathan Blamey corner his shot was headed off the line for another corner.
The Lambs continued in the same vein after the interval but could not get the second goal that would have put the result beyond doubt. A Carwardine cross was deflected by a defender goalwards only to go straight at Dingle. Blamey shot wide, Daymond saw another effort saved by the keeper and sub Hawkins was unlucky when his wing run and one-two with Daymond produced another save from Dingle.
The right result for the Lambs and it is three points that takes them up to eighth position.

Falmouth 2
THE Lambs' unbeaten run in the league came to an end earlier at Langsford Park with a lacklustre display.
Andy Parnowski returned from suspension and replaced the injured Darren Babb. After a promising start with Chris Gott flashing a shot just past a post, Rob Hawkins failing to control a James Cole cross and Mark Wall having a goalbound strike deflected for a corner, the 'Shipbuilders' opened the scoring.
Lambs keeper Andy Meeds had done well to save and the ball was cleared for a Falmouth corner. Carl Turner's kick was half-cleared but it fell to Darren Burchell on the edge of the area to strike low into the corner to give Meeds no chance.
Craig Hodge shot over for the home side before the visitors got their second a minute before half-time. Meeds did well again to tip Matt Moore's header onto the bar and Justin Ashborne reacted to volley home from close range.
As the second half wore on the Lambs' game deteriorated as they kept losing possession and could not string onions let alone a pass to a colleague together. Another chance went begging when in very quick succession three stabs at the ball could not find the net.
With five minutes left they got on the scoresheet. Falmouth's keeper Ryan Scoffin spoilt a faultless display to drop the ball at substitute Jaime Carwardine's feet to stab home.
Team: Andy Meeds, Steve Shaw, James Cole, Graeme Kirkup (sub Steve Daymond 80m), Andy Parnowski, Rob Hawkins (sub Lee Beer 68m), Nathan Blamey, Mark Wall (sub Jaime Carwardine 63), Craig Hodge, Chris Gott, Jason Carwardine,
