TAVISTOCK continued their fine run of results with a comfortable win against hard working Dartmouth side.

The Lambs were virtually at full strength with the return of Glyn Hobbs from suspension and Lee Blatchford from injury.

Early on possession was fairly even, with the first real goal scoring opportunity falling to the Lambs in the 10th minute, when Blatchford set Shane Krac up on the edge of the penalty area, his shot thundered off the cross bar and fell to Hobbs on the angle of the six yard box, only for his shot to hit the side netting.

Two minutes later Adam Carter set Dave Hallett free, but his fine strike failed to hit the target. The Lambs continued to dominate and in the 15 minute a delightful ball from Shane Krac released Richard Maddison who cut inside a shot just over the bar from the edge of the penalty area.

A rare raid by the host resulted in a free kick, Havlin's kick found Sam Churchill free in the six yard box, and the Lambs defence were glad to see his header go over the bar. The same player went close again when his shot from 25 yards flashed just wide of the Meeds goal.

Glyn Hobbs who was a constant threat to the Dartmouth defence all afternoon, went on one of his dazzling runs, beating three defenders only to see his fierce shot brilliantly saved by Dan Duffy.

It remained goalless for the rest of the first half, when really with the amount of possession and chances created by the visitors, the game should have been in the bag by half time.

The Lambs took the lead in the 50th minute, a fine move between Blatchford and Hallett, released Shane Krac on the right wing, and his pin point cross found Adam Carter, who slotted the ball home from 12 yards.

Shortly afterwards Dan Duffy in the Dartmouth goal brought off the save of the game diving full length to turn Lee Blatchford's powerful drive away for a corner kick.

The Lambs doubled their lead in the 65th minute, when Adam Carter's header found Shane Krac breaking from midfield, his shot took a slight deflection on its way into the net.

Dartmouth then had their best passage of play of the whole game, and in the 76th minute after a good move, Luke Brown produced a sharp turn to beat his defender on the edge of the penalty area, and fired an unstoppable shot passed Andy Meeds.

Then Meeds made a fine save from Jordan Havlin to deny the hosts an equaliser.

The Lambs regained their composure and scored a third goal in the 81st minute when Shane Krac netted his second of the game, after some fine play between Mark Conday and Adam Carter opened up the Dartmouth defence.

The Lambs dominated the remainder of the game and ran out worthy winners.

* The Lambs are at home to south coast side Brokenhurst in the F A Vase on Saturday, November 14, kick-off 3pm.
