Carlsberg South Western League Liskeard 4 Tavistock 3 THE Lambs took the lead with 19 minutes gone when they were awarded a free kick for dangerous play on the half way line. Fox?s quick ball forward caught the Liskeard defence napping for Adcock to spin inside his marker allowing Camara to skip past a defender and lash home. With 10 minutes of the half remaining John Gosling saw his turn and shot go straight into the arms of Zinc and the home side responded to get back on level terms. Dominic Richardson?s cross was met by Baker whose glancing header was kept out by Meeds at the foot of the post but there was Jamie Morrison-Hill on hand to steer home from an acute angle. The home side put the Lambs under the cosh at the start of the second half. Gary Williams? corner went straight across the goal with only a touch needed and after forcing a succession of free kicks and further corners they deservedly took the lead just after the hour. A free kick was met at the far post by an unchallenged Matt Penry to head home from close range. Meeds brought off a brilliant save almost immediately to deny Richardson but was left stranded 10 minutes later as the striker controlled Williams?s shot to curl the ball wide of the keeper. Adcock then went close before the home side looked to have appeared to put the game beyond doubt when Brinton Nute headed home unchallenged from close range on 85 minutes. But the Lambs had other ideas as they fought back with two quick goals. Adcock clipped the ball over Zinc and then Hallett put a through ball for Westlake to latch onto and bring the Lambs back to a one goal deficit. It set up an interesting added on time period but the Lambs could not find a way through for a decider. The Lambs kept scoring the goals but a 20 minute lapse mid way through the second half was their undoing. The fight back came too late in the game for any reward. St Blazey 4 Tavistock 0 THE lack of ability to defend and bad luck in front of goal was in evidence at Blaise Park as the current champions turned out worthy winners to leave the Lambs still rooted second from bottom. The Lambs got off to the worst possible start to concede the first goal after just seven minutes when Dale Band latched onto a through ball to go wide of Andy Meeds. Meeds did well after 15 minutes to deny Glyn Hooper with a point blank save. Another mistake on 25 minutes allowed Hooper to race in on goal and round the keeper but Meeds could only foul the front man in attempting to get to the ball. Up stepped Daly to make it 2-nil for the Saints. They almost made it 3 a minute later as Meeds goal kick went straight to Hooper but he shot wide of goal. The Lambs came a little more into the game as the half drew to a close. Tavistock were unlucky not to score at the start of the second half as Lee Fox?s header came back off a post with keeper Annear stranded but the Saints responded on 55 minutes when Hodge hurdled two tackles to round Meeds and slot home from an acute angle. The Saints got their fourth with 10 minutes remaining when Ian Gosling?s free kick was glanced on by Hooper for Mark Vercesi to head home. The Lambs were denied even a consolation goal when Darren Edwards? header from a Cole corner came back off the cross bar to leave the Lambs goalless and pointless. Forthcoming fixtures: Saturday, Carlsberg home to Truro City 3pm. P& D no game. Sunday, Tavistock U18s home to Roborough 2pm.
