Cornwall Junior Cup, first round Camelford 0 Gunnislake 3 AFTER suffering their first defeat as Gunnislake managers last time out, Tim May and Garfield Ewing got their team back to winning ways. Gunnislake were delighted to welcome back keeper Andy Brenton who had a quiet afternoon as the hosts only managed one shot on target and this was routine for Brenton. Two goals in the opening quarter put the visitors in control. Clint Nash played a neat one-two with Stef Kelly before he was upended in the penalty area. Gary Smith converted from the spot. Nathan Dore headed home a Jarryd Kelly centre for the second. The third did not come until late on when Stuart Wakenshaw shot home from eight yards. Gunnislake would have scored more but the Camelford keeper was in inspired form and aided by some good fortune as his woodwork was struck four times. For all their superior goal threat Gunnislake were still made to work throughout the 90 minutes as a youthful and spirited Camelford worked tirelessly displaying an excellent attitude. This Saturday sees the Premier side welcome struggling St Minver while the reserves are on their travels visiting Altarnun. Both games kick off at 2.30pm.
