YELVERTON Golf Club ladies' section members, Helen Harris and Caroline Theyer won the Willes Little Bowl at Libbaton on September 4. A county foursome competition, the bowl was last won by Yelverton in 1972.

Laura Eastwood has been selected to train with the English U18 squad. On September 4 she played in the Lady Golfer's Champion of Champions (of four counties) at Woodbury and finished fourth having played two over scratch.

The mixed open greensome competition on September 10 attracted 132 competitors, lots of good golf and good fun, with Karen Friendship and Ian Gascoigne of Yelverton winning with 41 points.
