Knitting and crochet are very much in vogue at the moment.
This trend has seen Hatherleigh Knit and Natter which was started just a year ago and meets fortnightly, to grow in popularity so much that it now meets twice a week.
The group last Sunday exhibited blankets they had all made, following a challenge put to them by Knit and Natter organiser Katrina Embling in June.
The 16 blankets formed a stunning display of colour, ingenuity and skill and were appreciated by the many visitors who admired them. Local silk artist Isabella Whitworth agreed to 'judge' them and choose her favourites.
The winner was Debbie Fowler, whose blanket was inspired by sweet peas in her garden.
Second was Sue Tinkler, third Rosemary Cooke and fourth Olive Bush.
If you would like to join Hatherleigh Knit and Natter just come along any Tuesday or Thursday evening, to Crafty Angel, Market Street, Hatherleigh, where a warm welcome awaits.
