Carlsberg South Western League Tavistock AFC 4 Penryn Athletic 0 THERE was a minute's silence in honour of former Tavistock club committee member Harry Goldsworthy who died the previous week. Goalkeeper Andy Meeds returned for the Lambs after missing last week's game while Lee Bevan came in to replace Lee Ireland and the injured Joe Davey and suspended Mark Conday were also replaced by Nigel Pugh and Adrian Payne. Glynn Hobbs had a chance in the first minute for Tavistock but his first touch allowed the ball to go to Penryn's keeper Chris Symins. Lambs however went ahead after five minutes when Bevan's ball up field was controlled by Neil Kinsman and he rolled the ball across the centre of the field for Shane Krac to let fly from 25 yards to give Symins no chance as it flew into the top corner. Two minutes later Symins saved from Hobbs but it allowed him to cross at the far post for Will Stringer to head just over. Stringer lasted just another five minutes when he was injured in a late challenge and was replaced by Jimmy Kiely. Symins denied Hobbs again on the half hour and within a minute Meeds was brought into action as he pulled of a fine save right out of the top drawer by tipping over a 25 yard Steve Rowson effort. Five minutes before half-time the Lambs deservedly went further ahead. Kiely and Krac combined to allow James Steer to cross for Kinsman to stab the ball home. Two goals in the first 15 minutes of the second half killed off the game. Kiely's ball from out wide was well controlled by the impressive Kinsman and he bided his time to send in a low cross to provide Krac again to shoot home from the penalty spot area. It was Kinsman again who latched onto the ball after Steer had won the ball back in midfield; he slipped it past Lee Bradd to send in another low cross that Hobbs miskicked but Steer was on hand to slot home at the far post. Richard Young's snap shot for Penryn saw Meeds save at the near post and Hobbs went close after a solo run before the final whistle for the Lambs to record a fine victory over a rather disappointing Penryn outfit.
