FOR the second time in two weeks the points were shared in a competitive game at Gunnislake.

Heavy underfoot conditions did not help Chillaton's style of play and for the first 20 minutes they were put under pressure by the home side but gradually got more of the play.

Andrew Williams came close with a long range effort and hit the underside of the Gunnislake bar with a free kick.

Simon Thyne gave Chillaton the lead on 30 minutes but the home side drew level on 40 minutes when the Yellows' defence, unable to dig the ball out of the mud, allowed the Gunnislake forward to score low to the left of Chillaton's Pete Daniel.

In the second half, with the home side reduced to 10 men, the match became a dour struggle and with the pitch deteriorating a draw looked on the cards.

l Chillaton's second team played at home to Boscastle, a much improved side, and found themselves three goals down at the interval.

Chillaton made all the running in the second half and pulled a goal back by Neil Sargent. Hannant, Cowling and Sargent again came close to adding to the score but 3-1 was the result in a game refereed by Kevin Lacey — officiating at his 1,000th game, a highly commendable achievement. Chillaton FC would like to add to the congratulations.

On Saturday Chillaton first team beat Lostwithiel to progress to the semi final of the Division Cup in a game played in windy conditions.

Steve Daymond made the early breakthrough when he collected a poor goal kick on the edge of Lostwithiel's box to score the first.

The visitors found it hard playing against the wind and good keeping kept the same score at the break with Pete Daniel in the home goal hardly troubled.

With the wind increasing in the second half Chillaton knew they were in for a hard time but on 50 minutes they pressed forward with a fluent passing attack and Andy Faulkner was able to pass the ball home.

On the hour the visitors scored with an unstoppable header.

Chillaton go on to meet RAF St Mawgan in the semi-final.
