KELLY House near Lifton hosted its first plant fair this month, raising hundreds of pounds for Devon Air Ambulance.

The plant fair was held on the sunken lawn in front of the Georgian house, and on the Sunday morning, Radio Devon presented the Potting Shed programme from the terrace with Pippa Quelch and John Harris.

The Devon group of the charity Plant Heritage, which promotes the conservation of garden plants, had a stand on the terrace and Brigit Strawbridge visited from Bumblebee Farm near Fowey to give a talk on bees.

Inside the house teas and lunches were served and Devon Hour pop-up gallery, organised by Jill Griffin was staged in the Victorian annexe, selling a range of art and sculpture.

Organiser of the event Sophia Kelly was pleased to have raised more than £500 for Devon Air Ambulance through donations on the gate at the two-day event.
