SWIMMERS throughout Devon are taking part in the Cheestrings National Age Group championships to find this year?s most promising young swimmers. The first galas took place at Plymouth. Swimmers aged between 9 and 16 turned out in force from clubs throughout the county with individual titles up for grabs as well as awards at stake for those clubs and individuals who scored the highest points. Winners from the county championships will then compete at district level. Kathryn won gold in the girls? 11 years 100m backstroke and Lawrence won silver in the boys? 13 years 100m individual medley.
