THE third weekend of the Devon Championship at Central Park Plymouth, saw Kelly College send 28 swimmers to compete in 78 races between them — producing 54 personal best times five gold medals, three silver and four bronze. Three Kelly College age group records were broken.
Charlie Bayliss (17) took his first Devon championship title in the 200m butterfly in a personal best time of 2mins 09.31secs. Team-mate Matthew Courtis (15) took the junior 200m butterfly, and also third in the senior race. George Humphrey was fifth.
Nathan Linden and Thomas Brewboth, who produced record breaking swims third and fourth in the 10 year-old 200m butterfly - both smashing the Kelly record for their age group — Tom at 3.21.9 and Nathan in a new record of 3.16.06. Tom also took silver in the 100m individual medley.
Elliot Boon was third in the mens 100m individual medley in a personal best time, with George Humphrey fifth. Blaine Small and was fourth in the womens 200m breastroke and fifth in the 100m backstroke where teammate Nadia Edling was sixth.
In the girls 200m breaststroke gold was won by 11 year-old Brittaney O'Reilly, 12 year old Georgia Jones and Molly Redford 14. Silver went to Beth Watmore (12) and bronze to Victoria Moore (11).
In the boys 10m individual medley, Ben Staig won gold in the 11 year old boys in a pb. The girls 100m backstroke saw Victoria Moore take silver, Georgia Jones bronze and Molly Redford take her second gold in a new Kelly College age group record of 1.07.47.
