Kelly College 1st X1 1 Torquay Grammar 0 GREAT attacking play from Kelly from the whistle meant they dominated possession and had early chances in their attacking 25 area. Torquay were a skillful, strong side with many county players, but simply lacked any connection between their players. A well placed and paced pass from Kate Eadie, playing her 1st XI debut for the new season, found Claire Mason, who was eagerly waiting in front of the goal for the cross. Claire Mason adopted an excellent low body position and made sure her shot at goal was aimed neatly at the space furthest away from the goal keeper, meaning Kelly went into the second half 1-0 up. In the second half, Kelly again dominated, and while Torquay looked dangerous on the break, it was short-lived and soon absorbed by the sound teamwork of Kelly?s defence. Focus and determination were maintained and it was only the play of an outstanding West Of England keeper from Torquay, that kept the opposition in the game. Player of the match: Louisa Frost. Kelly College 2nd XI 10 Shebbear 0 THIS was an excellent game with both teams displaying really good hockey. The Kelly girls were quick to find the gaps and Franziska Schmid-Burgk secured the first goal. Lizzey Tilley scored the next goal with a lovely reverse stick flick at the side of the goal. Tilley was goal hungry for the rest of the match and secured three more goals taking her total to four for the match. Chloe Tenant played well in defence and made some excellent tackles. Beth Newton and Katie Elliott worked hard in midfield. Kelly College U13s 10 Edgehill College U13s 0 THE game was quick from the start with the Kelly girls looking to get something every time the ball entered the D.
