KELLY College Girls Hockey 2nd XI team are enjoying a successful season. Six very good contests, including Exeter, West Buckland, Wellington, Truro and Stover Schools and Plymouth College have seen two draws, a narrow loss and three fine wins.

In the 0-0 draws against Exeter and West Buckland, Kelly had the upper hand for much of the time, but could not find the necessary killer instinct in the ?D?.

In a scrappy game against Wellington, the Kelly side was disappointed to lose 2-0.

The story was very different against a Truro ?A? XI.

The match saw a pleasing debut for Hayley Smith who niggled away on the right wing and some wily wing play from Jennie Anderson (Capt).

?Player? of the match was centre forward Amie Trewin who made a number of powerful runs and two good finishes to give Kelly a well deserved 2-0 victory.

This win seemed to settle the team and against a Stover ?A? XI, Kelly dominated throughout, although Stover?s excellent Devon keeper made it very difficult for the attackers.

However, an early ?poacher?s? goal from Jennie Anderson was followed by two good finishes from Amie Trewin to make it a comfortable win.

The game against Plymouth College saw the team at its passing best. Plymouth found it difficult to get any useful possession. Kelly were able to take advantage of their pace and good teamwork and scored four goals in the first half.

The short corner routine seemed to go to pot, but Kelly managed another three goals in the second half to give them a comfortable 7-0 victory.
