POLICE want the public's assistance in helping them identify a prowler or prowlers who have been seen in people's gardens in Callington in the early hours of the morning over the past week.

People have reported incidents of a prowler at Willoughby Place and Zaggy Lane around 4am or 5am.

Police Community Support Officer Mark Stribley said the description was of a male, but there were two variations — one of an older man with a heavy build who was balding, and the other of a man in his 30s of slim build.

'We are not sure if there are one or two and what their intentions are,' said PCSO Stribley.

'I would suggest that they are probably not good intentions. If anyone has seen someone acting suspiciously at that time of the morning please call us.'

He added that there had been a few incidents of theft in the South Hill Road and Broadmead area from gardens and outbuildings and these prowlers could by scouting for items to steal.
