ROADFORD Lake Angling and Watersports Centre near Broadwoodwidger is the host location for the South West showcase of the latest sport for anglers.

Kayak fishing experts and equipment suppliers Wellard and Scott have teamed up with South West Lakes Trust for a day of demonstrations and tuition on Sunday, September 28, starting at 10am. For those wanting hands-on tuition there will be qualified instructors available to teach safe use of kayaks and fly casting, as well as casting and safety demonstrations.

A range of the latest kayaks will be available to try. Participants can also enjoy a Gary Champion 'hook 'em and cook 'em' demonstration, and a barbecue.

Organiser Chris Hall of South West Lakes Trust said: 'There will be something for everyone at the event, whether a complete beginner wanting to try casting for the first time, or more experienced anglers who want to move from bank to kayak and explore different locations on the lake to test their skill.'

The admission fee is £10 per person.
