THE victim of a suspected hit and run incident in Calstock is now recovering at home as police investigations continue. Kate Rackstraw, 23, was found with serious head and leg injuries in Sand Lane in the early hours of July 25 after visiting Calstock Regatta and Bike Festival. The young mother from Albaston spent several weeks in intensive care at Derriford Hospital before being moved to a general ward. She is still confined to a wheelchair but has returned home. A police spokesperson said: ?We understand Kate is progressing well and enquiries are ongoing. We are still investigating the incident and we are looking for people to come forward if they have any information.? Officers were unable to interview Kate for some time because of the extent of her injuries. Members of the police Tactical Aid Group have scoured the area twice in the search for evidence, but without success. Anyone with information should call Devon and Cornwall police on 08452 777444 or Crimestoppers, in confidence, on 0800 555111.
