THE highlight of Saturday's Fourball Better Ball Stableford Competition, held at Okehampton Golf Club was Kane Wills' 'hole in one' on the seventh hole. Kane claimed his first ace in cold and wet conditions but the celebrations soon warmed him up! Division one was won by Terry Steer and Jim Dunlop who scored 44 points, second Graham Brown and Gareth Holt with 42, third were Steve Rice and Phil Atherton on 41 and fourth were Graham Moysey and Malcolm Hooper with 40. Division two was a close fought competition with Paul Skidmore and Russell Dibble gaining first place on countback with 43pts while in second place were Matt Mills and Mike Hern. Third place was closely contested with Paul Ayris and Kerry Skinner and Cherry and George James with 39. On February 7 the ladies played a qualifying medal. Pam Jarman won the silver division with an excellent gross 89, net 71. In second place was Penny Deakin with a gross 83, net 72. Third was Cherry James 94, 76. Winning the bronze division was Jane Warren 96, 74, second was Sally Griffin 106, 77 and in third place was Mary Keir with a 99, 78.
