TAW Vale Judo club sent a clutch of juniors and seniors to the recent BJA Western Area competitive grading held in Kingsbridge, and all earned higher grades in the day?s fighting.

The grades achieved were: Juniors: Jack Clutterbuck, 8 mon, orange; Ryan James, 7 mon, orange, first competitive grading; Richard Plumpton 10 mon, green; Lawrence Waldron, 9 mon, orange.

Seniors: James Mansfield, 3 kyu, blue; Adrian Plumpton, 3 kyu, blue; Joe Scott, 7 kyu,orange, first grading

To celebrate, Adrian and Joe entered the BJA Western Area Youth and Senior championships held at Glastonbury Leisure Centre on Sunday. Here the competition was of a high standard and both gained valuable experience. Adrian also gained a bronze medal ? for the young men?s under 73 kilo group.

Taw Vale Judo club meets every Wednesday (in and out of school term) at North Tawton Rugby Club ? primary age children 6.30pm to 7.30pm approximately, and secondary age children and seniors (over 16) 7.30pm to 8.30pm approximately.
